It's A New Year?!

It might be a new year and all that..at least according to the calendar, but our understanding of time is becoming more and more abstract.

Regardless! Our hours have changed slightly though; we are now open from Sunday-Thursday 11am-8pm, while Friday and Saturday we try to go till 9pm. Unless its snowing/sleeting/completely miserable out. Like right now...

And although the weather can be frightful in a Missouri January-May, we have fired up our patio heaters and attached a make-shift wind breaker (while we attempt to source a more permanent solution) to try to keep you all as comfortable as possible while you are waiting on food...PERHAPS while you are waiting on food, on a Tuesday, to take the receipt of your order over to our buds at Tie and Timber to receive TWO dollars off of your first beer. *HINT HINT*. We've put off driving down alliteration alley long enough, so now we are embracing it and officially presenting: TACO TUESDAY AT TIE AND TIMBER WITH TEAM TACO (or TT @ T&T w/TT).

While contemplating reorganizing your week to fit in said Taco Tuesday, we have a couple of new menu items to distract you from whatever it is you should be doing. New item the first: We have a soup just in time for our progressively later and later winters. Chile con carne! Its got chilies like guajillos and poblanos (not spicy BTW) swimming in a fortifying beef broth. Also in that broth, we add our spiced rice and a bunch of our TWELVE HOUR ROASTED BRISKET.

New item the second: The Chalupa-Cabra, our brand new The Ringer. We've endeavored to capture (the spirit of) the chupacabra in Ringer form. The result is a pita piled with french fries, guac and brisket, topped with queso, rojo, pico and cilantro. Its delicious and also hearty. So much so that we don't suggest eating it alone; it has been known* to induce food comas. Better find out for yourself. Sorry..we'd include a picture, but you know...it being so elusive and all. Almost lastly, don't forget to try some of our rotating KIND OF SECRET house made hot sauces. There are multiple degrees of heat, so even if you're just starting your spicy journey we got you covered.

*this has not been verified as fact, but we feel it’s probably true, so there you have it.

LASTLY, it seems strange to say, but we have to answer this a lot: WHY YES WE DO HAVE COCKTAILS, but they are meant to be consumed on our premises. Unfortunately, this is not Bourbon or Beale St and open container laws are still in effect in good ol' Greene County. However! We also have some of the best tequila and mezcal in the world (at least according to Forbes magazine...which is as good as an authority as any, we suppose). Next time the weather turns bad, or the next day that ends in 'Y', come get yourself a bottle and see what those 'sippin' tequilas' are all about!

New News!

We have some updates!

Hi. Hello. How are you all doing out there?

Us? Pretty good, all things considered! Thanks for asking!

Also! Thanks for masking without asking! People still ask us if they should wear a mask when ordering since we are outside sorta.. (We still have to get fairly close to take your order btw). But the short answer? Yes please. Longer answer; It is very nice when people do wear a mask when ordering. We wear them to protect y'all (and our co-workers), so its nice to see people reciprocate that feeling towards us. Thank you. Thank you.

If the consistently gorgeous weather (sorry crops/farm land) isn't enough to get people out and about to spaces that are considering your safety, then maybe we can entice you more! Our pals at Tie and Timber are throwing a Pineapple-Themed party tonight (Friday...if you are reading this not on Friday, you missed out) for their Midnight Lovemaker Piña Colada Milkshake IPA Beer Release. Not only can you get a new tasty bev there, you can also get some Pineapple Whip AS WELL AS A NEW THE RINGER FROM US. There's a whole package deal thing. Visit the brewery and check it out!

A new The Ringer you ask?? Its about time you guys! Yeah we know...apologies... We are bringing back the Pineapple Pig (48-hour pineapple juice marinated & smoked pork shoulder) and changing it up a bit from the previous iteration. Instead of pickled red onions (don't ask..) we are adding pico and some verde sauce. You can also ramp it up with our current SECRET HOT SAUCE: Lū-OW! Shout-out to Chef Dan for that name. Its powered by naga viper peppers, pineapple, brown buttered onions and garlic. We also still have a little bit of our "The Before Times" which features pickled ghost peppers and rice wine vinegar. They both are stellar.

Patio Project Update: not finished yet, but close! It will be done some time!

Cocktail Update: We have a new drink on the block! Rozza Sunrise (we ran out of big 'S' letters on our new menu board..). Its a nice riff off of a tequila sunrise. It includes our mezcal/tequila blend, maraschino liqueur (the really nice one) and San Pelligrino blood orange soda: Aranciata Rossa. It. Is. Dangerous.

Menu Update: We've added another menu board to our shop! It looks like a lot of words now, but most of them are things you all already know about. Hopefully it helps answer questions about some of our items and offerings. But there are some new things! We are also offering a 'customer-call' for nachos: "travel style" for an extra $2. Which means we'll put each ingredient separately from your chips so it doesn't get all goopy and sad if you are traveling away from the shop. Good idea customers!

Aaaaaaand we are finally pleased to announce that we can put the B.A. Baracus (the 12 hour roasted brisket) back to the 3 for 9.99 category!! While beef prices have stabilized it seems, the nice and not cheap, environmentally friendly packaging we put ALL of our stuff in now is rather in flux, so please be patient as you might see different sized/colored/clear packages. We try to stay away from Styrofoam at all costs, so if you see us using it, please know that we don't want to and it is a necessity.

Tequila Update: According to Forbes Magazine, the Tequila Ocho Silver that we sell just won "Best Tequila In the World". We knew it was already awesome as that is the tequila you get if you just tell us "I dunno, give me something silver". Come get a bottle today and make your friends jealous!

That's enough for now. Thank you for reading if you made it this far! We hope to see your shining eyes at our window soon!

GAME ON!

The crew has spent the last couple of days at the shop getting it ready to make that goodness available on Monday, June 1st at 11am! Its strange, one would think that re-opening the restaurant wouldn't be as involved as the initial opening, but it sure looked that way! We have to learn how to speak with normal voices after being away for so long. Its tough!

Ch-Ch-Changes

As we have mentioned before, we will be open, but we are making some operational changes during these still uncertain times. Just know, that all of these changes are intended to keep our employees (and their surrounding circles of loved ones) as safe as possible and to keep us operating in the case that there are more restrictions in the future.

-We will only be selling food TO-GO (while our patio is still under construction. We don't have a completion date by now, because obvs.) You all have most likely seen the shop. It Small. So small that opening our lobby at any reduced capacity makes no sense. BUT! Our friends at Tie and Timber have this bangin' new beer garden that would love to have you chillin' responsibly and drinking their brews.

-We will still not be taking call-in orders. We literally do not have room to have food waiting on people. You all know we are pretty quick when we have to be, so come on up to the window and place your order and we'll get it done! But! If you have a large group (like 10 people or more), please email us at info@teamtacosgf.com with all your needs and we'll work it out!

-Since our patio is currently under construction, we will be changing our adult beverage policy. SINGLE BEER CANS PER CUSTOMER TO GO ONLY and retail bottles will be sold (just like our buds at Cherry Picker). However we are not doing cocktails TO-GO as to not interfere with our lovely neighbors (meaning we don't want them ending up in their backyards/patios per *so* many liquor rules). BUT! We will offer 1/2 sized versions of our cocktails, with prices adjusting accordingly, (as well as pours of our tequilas and mezcal) to be consumed ON OUR PROPERTY, IN A DESIGNATED AREA ONLY, while you wait for your food. We will have this small designated area *per our liquor license* that we are dubbing 'Consumption Junction', where you can *ahem* quickly enjoy a little beverage.

-We will have some social distancing appropriate markings on our pavers. Please respect those boundaries as much as possible. We've had people asking if we will be requiring customers to wear a mask when ordering. We will not, but its a good idea and its nice to see people wearing them and being considerate of others. Please keep that up! We will all be wearing some form of face coverings at the window.

-Lastly, we have to make a small menu change; as you know from any grocery store trip, beef prices are crazy high right now. That affects us significantly as well. Accordingly, we will be moving the B.A. Baracus (bah-RAH-kus) to the Ringer position and bringing back crowd/shop/employee favorite TOFU-King [good] to a spot on the 'year rounder' menu board.

There's probably some other stuff that has changed since the 'before times', but its been a long couple of days and we'd like to get some rest before we rock and roll with y'all tomorrow. Thank you all for the support that we've seen as of late and its nice that you haven't forgotten about us. Oh yeah! People have been asking how you can support us and other restaurants in these times. MERCH. MERCH. MERCH. We will have some of our OG Team Taco 100% cotton shirts on fire sale for this purpose. Gift Cards are nice and all, but they can make for some weird days in slow months. Plus if you wear a shirt around its like your advertising for us, which is awesome because we don't really have a 'marketing budget' and if we did, it would be gone because of all the COVIDITY.

In Summation. If you made it this far. Thank you! We are trying to operate safely, while being considerate to our employees, our neighbors and our business friends in the neighborhood and with your help we will continue to do so.

Cheers and Love
